Abstract

In radiology, justification pertains to the proper application of radiologic imaging modalities, which can be accomplished through the creation of clinical imaging guidelines (CIGs). CIGs have recently been demonstrated to be helpful in determining the appropriate medical imaging modality, which reduces the number of unnecessary radiologic examinations and improves justifications. However, because evidence-based medicine methodology must be followed, the development of CIGs is challenging and time-consuming. Therefore, despite the fact that radiologic societies in developed nations like the USA and the UK are already creating and utilizing CIGs in their clinical practices, many other nations do not yet have easy access to CIGs due to disparities in medical resources and circumstances. In this review, we evaluate the function and constraints of CIGs by looking at how they are in developed nations right now.
