Background: India stands for the second rank in most populated countries in the world after china. Maximum community of India stays
in villages. Family planning has been recognized as part of maternal and child health services in India. India is the first country to start
Family Planning Programme which has started in the year 1952.
Research methodology: Descriptive research approach was used. Study setting Maternity ward of KH Karad. With an objective, To
assess the level of regarding family planning among Primi postnatal mothers, to find an association between level of knowledge and
selected sociodemographic variables. 100 Primi postnatal mothers selected as per inclusion and exclusion criteria with convenient
sampling technique. Before starting study the ethical committee approval has taken. After explanation of purpose of study informed
content was obtained from the study participants.
