A Study Of The Academic Achievement Motivation Of Higher Secondary School Students Of Aizawl City In Relation To Their Gender, Class/Grade And Mother’s Occupation

The present study looks into gender, students’ class/grade in school and mother’s occupation as some factors that could influence the level of Academic Achievement Motivation among Higher Secondary School Students of Aizawl City, Mizoram. The analysis of the data reveals that there is no significant difference with regards to gender and type of management of schools. However, the study noted a significant difference in the level of academic achievement motivation of higher secondary school students whose mothers are salaried as compared to those whose mothers are Business women; the difference is in favor of the group of students whose mothers are salaried. Otherwise, no other significant differences were noted for other occupational groups of mothers.
