Abstract

The green nanotechnology is generating interest in researches for synthesis of nanoparticle in a simple, cost effective, less toxic and ecofriendly manner. Fenugreek seed extract was used to synthesize copper nanoparticles in this present study. The nanoparticles were characterized using UV, FT-IR, XRD, SEM with EDAX. The zone of inhibition of CuNPs against certain bacteria and fungi were noted. The photocatalytic activity of CuNPs was evaluated against azo dye Congo red. The optical band gap was also investigated and it reveals that CuNPs were semiconductor materials.
