Abstract

Techniques of fault diagnostics for three-phase Voltage Source Inverters(VSIs) have been reported with the aim of boosting reliability in harsh environments. This research suggests a fuzzy-based fault detection approach in the VSIusing average current Park's Vector method. The fault symptom variables are computed using the average current Park's Vector approach using the phase current data.To process the variables representing the fault symptoms and obtain the defective information for power switches, fuzzy logic is used. The fuzzy logic design, fuzzy inputs, and fuzzy rules are distinct from other fuzzy logic techniques. The results show the effectiveness of fuzzy fault diagnosis of open switch failure in three phaseVSI.Fault occurrence time, fault isolation time and fault diagnosis time are 49.63 ms, 80.40 ms and30.77 ms respectively.
