Aim: Studying how routine intraumbilical oxytocin injection and active management of the third stage of labour affects maternal and foetal outcomes including blood loss and labour time. Materials and Methods: prospective controlled trial at Al Zahraa University Hospital's Department of Gynecology & Obstetrics from January 2022 to June 2022. The study included 95 women who had normal vaginal births over a six-month period. Results: there was high statistically difference as regarding post-delivery Hgb & Hgb loss (the group who had pphge had more Hgb loss & less post Hgb level) and amount of blood loss (cc). With regards to parity, gestational age, mother age, blood group, and predelivery Hgb, No statistically significant relationship existed amoung the 2 groups. Conclusion: The current research indicated that the rate of postpartum haemorrhage could be lowered by using umbilical vein oxytocin injections in conjunction with active management of the third stage of labour.
