Abstract

Polypropylene terephthalate nanosheets were created using a solution casting process Boron Nitride Nanosheets (BNNs). With increased nanosheet content, polypropylene terephthalate chain mobility is restricted, which inhibits crystal formation, there- fore reducing the melting point and crystallization behavior of the composites studied. Improvements in mechanical characteristics can be shown in the nanoindentation studies performed on composite films. A 3 wt % fermentation of BNNs in Polypropylene terephthalate (PPT) resulted in a 34.2 % rise in elastic modulus and a 32.6 % surge in hardness.
