Abstract

Background: Guided bone regeneration (GBR) is an infallible technique to treat ridge deficiencies prior or during implant placement. Injectable-platelet rich fibrin (I-PRF) laced with bone substitute (sticky bone) has heralded the way to advance outcomes of bone regenerative procedures.
Aim: To evaluate the clinical efficacy of Sticky Bone which is Anorganic Bovine Bone Mineral (ABBM) combined with injectable PRF (I PRF) in horizontal ridge augmentation procedures.
Methods: This study evaluated the efficacy of sticky bone in horizontal ridge augmentation in 10 partially edentulous patients indicated for GBR. Under LA full thickness flap raised , Sticky bone prepared and adapted to defect , flap sutured with resorbable vicryl sutures. CBCT was taken at baseline and after 6 months for evaluation of changes in horizontal and vertical bone height. additional clinical parameters evaluated included vestibular depth and keratinized tissue width.
Results: Statistically significant gain in HRW (p<0.05) of 2.7mm, 2.8mm, 2.6mm observed at three levels , further there was a statistically significant improvement in vertical bone height and keratinized tissue width
Conclusion: .Sticky-bone (ABBM + I-PRF) may be used as a promising biomaterial in achieving significant horizontal bone width gain
