A Study To Assess The Effectiveness Of Burger Allen Exercise On Improving Peripheral Circulation Among Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus Patients In Selected Hospitals Of Nadiad, Gujarat

INTRODUCTION:
Diabetes is a chronic, metabolic disease characterized by elevated levels of blood glucose (or blood sugar), which leads over time to serious damage to the heart, blood vessels, eyes, kidneys, and nerves. This is also a risk factor for peripheral arterial diseases. The most common is type 2 diabetes, usually in adults, which occurs when the body becomes resistant to insulin or doesn't make enough insulin. Exercise like burger allen have shown significance in improvement of blood circulation in both upper and lower extremities. In the past three decades the prevalence of type 2 diabetes has raised dramatically in countries of all income levels.
AIM:To assess the effectiveness of burger allen exercise on improving peripheral circulation among type 2 diabetes mellitus patients.
OBJECTIVES:
To assess the peripheral circulation among type 2 diabetes mellitus patients before and after Burger Allen exercise.To find out the effectiveness of Buerger Allen exercise among type 2 diabetes mellitus patients.To find out association between post test score with selected demographic variables among type 2 diabetes mellitus patients in Nadiad city.
METHODOLOGY:
The one-group pre-test post-test experimental design has adopted.The 40 samples of types 2 diabetes mellitus patients were selected as samples from selected hospitals of Nadiad by purposive sampling technique. The patients suffering from diabetes mellitus who fulfilled the inclusive criteria were selected as a sample for the study and sample size 40. The data were collected using a questionnaire and performing clinical examination.The written setting permission was taken from the Dean of Dr. N D Desai hospital for data collection. The prior consent form was also signed by type 2 diabetic patients for the study.
The tool was developed by 2 sections:
Section 1- sociodemographic data
Section 2- modified in low’s 60 second diabetic foot screen.
The data were analyzed by using the inferential method.
RESULTS:
In our studyregarding effectiveness of burger allen exercise on peripheral circulation among type 2 diabetes mellitus patients result revealed isthat an average score before the assessment of Burger Allen exercise on improving peripheral circulationon right leg was 4.1750 and on left leg was 3.3250 and after the exercise on right leg was 3.6000 and on left leg was 3.0250.
CONCLUSION:the study attempted to assess the effectiveness of burger allen exercise on peripheral circulation among type 2 diabetes mellitus patients. Study has concluded that by performing the burger allen exercise on this patient has improved the peripheral blood circulation in both lower and upper extremities.
