Abstract

To the article "On cratering in a flat barrier upon impact of a spherical particle" in this work, the problem is solved within the framework of the “plastic gas” model at the particle impact velocity =5-8km/s. As a first approximation, it is assumed that the initial value of the pressure, determined from the consideration of the problem of collision of bodies at , is symmetrically distributed along the boundary of the spherical layer with radius and the influence of the side boundaries of the target on the shock-wave process is neglected.
