Epilepsy is a disease characterized by repeated seizures that are caused by excessive neuronal discharges and are accompanied by other clinical and paraclinical manifestations. The pathogenesis of epilepsy, one of the most common neurological diseases, is based on excessive neuronal discharges, which are realized through the pathology of cell membranes and an imbalance in the excitatory and inhibitory neurotransmitters of the brain.
