Abstract

This  article focused to reveal the impact of polyherbal ointment as wound Healer. Therefore, the different ratio i.e 3%, 5% and 7 % w/w of individual plant extracts was used to prepare polyherbal ointment.. The Prepared Formulations were also evaluated for the following parameters: pH, Spreadability, skin irritation study, viscosity and stability.  The poyherbal ointment was put on various evaluation parameters to access the wound healing and antioxidant activity. The wound healing activity was evaluated by incision wound models followed by measurement of tensile strength, epitheliazation rate, SOD and GSH value.

The result obtained were compared with standard formulation (Betadine ointment) and result showed the significant increase in tensile strength of Formulation F-C (7%w/w) treated group showed than F-A (3%w/w) and F-B (5%w/w) treated group. The highest tensile strength was observed in marketed formulation i.e 525 gm. The antoxidant SOD and GSH level of Formulation F-C (7%w/w) treated group has also found to be significant than other formulation treated group.
